1. INTRODUCTION
Kryptext is a simple to use, but extremely sophisticated program that provides you with complete security when sending and receiving SMS text messages. Ideal for both individuals and businesses Kryptext fully protects you from commercial espionage, governments, mobile phone companies, and third parties who seek to discover your sensitive information or private correspondence. In short Kryptext is your one-stop-shop for sending and receiving all your SMS text messages in complete confidence that you are the sole recipient.

2. BEFORE INSTALLATION
When purchasing Kryptext you were given a Security Code that was generated by us from your IMEI number (IMEI -International Mobile Equipment Identifier). You will need this Security Code to hand during the installation procedure.

It is also good housekeeping to ensure, or enter all your mobile contact numbers within your existing contact manager or address book using the + sign followed by the country code with the leading 0 omitted. For instance if you live in the United Kingdom and wish to enter a new mobile contact with the number 07966 123456, you would enter the number as +447966123456.

CREATE PASSWORD

For your added security you can password-protect your messages in Kryptext so that only you can view the program upon entering the correct password. By having the password feature enabled no other person is able to pick up your mobile phone and open the program to read your encrypted messages. Please choose your password carefully. We suggest a selection of both letters and numbers.

Selecting Option (1 Fig 6) will bring up a pop-up menu that allows you to set your password. (2 Fig 6). .

(Fig 6)

Upon entering your chosen password it will change from letters and numbers into asterisks (Fig 7). Select OK and the password screen disappears. This means your password has now been entered and you will be asked for your password whenever you restart Kryptext.

Selecting “On” will prompt you to submit a password (Fig 7)

The password feature can be turned off or a new password can be chosen at any time by reversing the procedure, i.e. going to Option and selecting “Set Password” etc.

4. SENDING A MESSAGE
To send a message open Kryptext and you will automatically be taken to the Main Menu Screen.

(Fig 8)
Choose “Create SMS” on the Main Menu screen (1 Fig 8) to open up the Message window (Fig 9).

(Fig 9)
Please enter a mobile number before writing a message. There are two ways of doing this:

a. Either type the number into the Mobile Number field (1 Fig 9). It is always best to enter the number with the country code and + sign etc. Just typing the number normally such as 07... will generally work, but message delivery cannot be guaranteed. Your own network provider, Orange, Vodaphone etc might add country codes automatically before transferring messages or they might not. To avoid frustration it is best to enter the country code manually. Alternatively choose the Contact Manager or Address Book.

b. Click on the Address Book icon   (2 Fig 9) and all your phone contacts will appear, select a name and click OK. The name of the recipient of your SMS has been automatically entered into the Mobile Number field. You might have chosen a different route and are storing your phone contacts within your Account Manager. These cards may contain different telephone numbers such as Business Number, Home Number, Mobile Number, etc. Kryptext will cleverly and automatically select the Mobile Number, provided that the chosen number has been stored correctly in your phone contacts.

To write a message click onto the large message field (Fig 9) and start writing your message. The maximum number of characters that you can send in one text message is 110. A counter is provided at the top of the Message Field for your convenience and control.

All you need to do now is select which method you wish to send it by. As you are using Kryptext and will want to send all your messages encrypted just select the “Send Encrypt” button (5 Fig 9). You will be returned to the Main Menu Screen.

However, if you wish to send a message to someone who does not use Kryptext choose to send a message by selecting the “Send” button (6 Fig 9). Your message will automatically be sent and you will be returned to the Main Menu Screen.

Remember, the message will not be encrypted. So get them to purchase Kryptext.

If at any time you decide to cancel sending a message simply exit by selecting the “Exit” button (7 Fig 9).

5. RECEIVING A MESSAGE
Select the “Read SMS” on the menu (1 Fig 10). This will highlight your selection and open up your Message Inbox Fig 11).

      (Fig 10)                                                                                                     (Fig 11)
The Message Inbox Screen (Fig 11) shows all the messages that you have received and includes both encrypted and non-encrypted messages. The encrypted messages show a small padlock on top of the envelope (1 Fig 11).

As you will see in the screen shot, with non-encrypted messages the first few letters of the message are shown. However, with the encrypted messages no clue is given as to its contents.

Select the message that you want to read. If you have selected an encrypted message then the message will be shown in its encrypted state (Fig 12).

(Fig 12)
To decrypt the message select “Option” (1 Fig 12) and then select “Decrypt Message” from the pop-up menu (2 Fig 12). The pop-up menu also gives the option to “Reply” or “Forward” your message. Fig 13 shows an illustration of a decrypted message.
For your ease of use the following features are also included on this screen:
The key appears at the top right of the screen to show that the message has been encrypted.
This is a message counter. i.e. this is message 4 of 5.
These buttons allow you to flick through your messages.
The date and time that you received the message are also shown on the blue bar at the bottom of the screen.

(Fig 13)
You will notice that the key symbol  now disappears after you have opened the message, and the mobile number has also been decrypted.
